Mental Health Ministries

Equipping congregations to address mental health with compassion and inclusion

Organized in 2004, the Mental Health Ministries of the Susquehanna Conference provides leadership, advocacy, and education to congregations responding to the growing mental health crisis.

Why This Matters

  • 1 in 5 U.S. adults experienced mental illness in the past year
  • 1 in 6 school-aged children have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder
  • Many individuals do not seek or receive treatment due to stigma, lack of knowledge, or inadequate resources

Faith communities are uniquely positioned to offer hope, compassion, and a safe place to belong. Mental Health Ministries helps churches become caring communities that model God’s love for all. Inspired by Jesus’ ministry of healing and following John Wesley’s model, we believe in restoring the well-being of body, mind, and spirit with holistic care that refuses no one.
