The Susquehanna Conference is excited to announce the upcoming launch of the Seedling Legacy Grant Program - a new initiative building on more than a century of faithful stewardship through the former Seedling Financial Ministry. While the original program has concluded, its legacy continues as a long-term investment in the mission and vitality of our churches.
Approved by the Annual Conference in 2025, this grant program provides a sustainable fund dedicated to church buildings, renovations, and capital improvements - ensuring congregations have the resources they need to serve their communities effectively, now and for generations to come.
Purpose of the Program
The Seedling Legacy Grant Program will empower local churches to renew, reimagine, and revitalize their facilities in ways that strengthen ministry and deepen community impact. Grants will support:
- Essential renovations and infrastructure improvements aligned with mission focuses
- Strategic capital investments that expand ministry capacity or enable new ministry initiatives
- Thoughtful alignment of resources with missional goals and community needs
With the current fund of $3.0 million - sustained through investment returns and ongoing loan repayments - this program is designed to provide long-term, meaningful support for ministries across the Conference.

Oversight & Stewardship
Grant allocations will be guided with integrity by the Seedling Legacy Grant Subcommittee of the Conference Council on Finance & Administration, in collaboration with the Bishop, Cabinet, Superintendents, and other Conference leadership.
This shared oversight ensures responsible stewardship and alignment with the Conference's mission, with careful attention to how each project advances ministry goals and responds to community needs.
