CONFERENCE BOARD OF GLOBAL MINISTRIES GRANTS
The Conference Board of Global Ministries offers grants to help churches in the Susquehanna Conference grow in their discipleship capacity in relation to loving their neighbors. Areas of particular focus are disaster relief, volunteers in missions, missions, justice, evangelism, advocacy, and training related to these topics. Grants can be applied for on a rolling basis.
Our next application deadline is January 31.

CLM School is an opportunity for advanced training for Certified Lay Servants to explore and be ready for ministry opportunities! The deadline for registration is January 20, 2023. COACH APPROACH TRAINING
Coach Approach Training is coming to three locations in February and March 2023. This training will provide exciting opportunities to use coach skills in many congregational leadership ways! Pastors, Leadership Team members, others who lead within the church are welcomed! LEARN MORE

BOUNDARIES TRAINING
If you have previously taken Boundaries and need to take a class to renew your training there are now two online options from the Lewis Center for Learning. The courses that will satisfy your Boundaries requirement are either “Maintaining Boundaries in a Digital Age” or “Understanding Clergy Sexual Ethics”. These courses cost $49 and are at your expense. There is no “group code” to use when you register.
In-person training courses for Required Boundaries are being scheduled for each district.
Also, please make sure your clearances are up-to-date. FBI fingerprints, Child Abuse Clearance and PA State Police criminal background check are required by state law every 5 years. Failure to be in compliance could result in suspension from appointment/assignment. Contact Rev. Marian Hartman, clergy assistant to BOOM – mhartman@susumc.org with any questions.
Holiday Hours
The Conference Office will be closed January 2, 2023 for New Year’s. The office will re-open on January 3.

2023 Mileage Rates
The IRS has issued the standard mileage rates for 2023. For pastors and paid church staff using their vehicles for business, the rate would be 65.5 cents per mile. For church volunteers, the rate remains unchanged at 14 cents per mile. For more information go to www.IRS.gov

General Board of Church & Society Seminar
March 5-8, 2023
Join colleagues and friends for a fun, educational trip to Washington, DC and the UM General Board of Church & Society. This particular seminar will focus on the work of the GBCS around beloved community with a focus on racism, anti-semitism, and extremism. We will learn how to better address these issues in our local communities. The deadline to register has been extended to January 20. LEARN MORE
