Many Eyes, One Story

Welcome to the 2026 Session of the Susquehanna Annual Conference.

Annual Conference is many things at once. It is a time of worship and prayer. It is a gathering of old friends and new connections. It is a place of discernment, decision-making, and shared ministry. It is also a moment in the ongoing story of our Conference - one that will become part of our collective memory and history.

Because so much happens here, no single person can experience it all. No one can attend everything gathering, hear every testimony, witness every act of service, or participate in every conversation. Yet together, we share in something larger than ourselves.

That is one of the roles of the communications team this week.

Through photographs, videos, stories, newsletters, and daily updates, we seek to help connect the many moments that make up Annual Conference. Not simply to document events, but to help us see and celebrate the work God is doing among us. In doing so, we hope to capture not only what happened, but also the spirit of this gathering - the relationships formed, the ministries celebrated, the challenges discerned, and the hopes carried forward.

This year, I am especially grateful for the team serving alongside me - Fernando and Anna. This is their first Annual Conference. They bring fresh perspectives, creative gifts, and a shared commitment to telling the story of our Conference with care and faithfulness. Throughout the week, you may see them behind a camera, gathering interviews, posting updates, writing stories, or quietly capturing moments of worship and connection. Together, we are honored to serve as witnesses to the life of the Church in this place.

Our hope is that the stories shared this week do more than report what happened. We hope they help us see ourselves more clearly - as a people connected by covenant, called to ministry, and united in our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Thank you for allowing us to tell the story of this holy time together.

Grace and Blessings,

Matthew Shineman
