Editor’s Note: The following message was sent to pastoral leaders in the Susquehanna Conference on Tuesday, May 12 on behalf of Bishop Héctor A. Burgos-Núñez encouraging participation in Miracle Sunday.

May 12, 2026

Dear Pastoral Leaders of the Susquehanna Conference,

Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ.

Miracle Sunday is just five days away. I write to invite you once more to lead your congregation(s) in participating in this shared offering across our worldwide United Methodist connection.

I recently recorded a brief video message explaining why this effort matters so profoundly. I encourage your to watch it and share it with your congregation. Click here to download the video.

Today, more than 70% of clergy in the United States have formal theological training, while fewer than 5% of clergy outside the U.S. do. And yet, God continues to call and equip faithful leaders across Africa, Europe, and the Philippines — women and men who are preaching, teaching, and shepherding with courage and conviction.

Through Miracle Sunday, we can respond together. This offering will help establish a permanent endowment that provides scholarships for pastors and ministry leaders around the world, strengthening the future of the Church for generations to come.

I encourage you to share this invitation in worship, through your church communications, and in the rhythms of your congregation’s life together. You can learn more here.

Thank you for your faithfulness, your leadership, and your partnership in Christ’s mission.

May God multiply every gift offered with joy.
