Lay Servant Ministry Classes now being offered
Discovering Spiritual Gifts ~ This study course is designed to lead Christians to identify and use their spiritual gifts.
Location: Gettysburg United Methodist Church, 30 W. High St., Gettysburg, PA 17325 on April 1, 2017, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Lourdes Stevens will facilitate this course. She serves as Director of Hospitality and Small Groups at Grace UMC in Hanover and our District Office Administrative Assistant to the District Superintendent.

Congregational Care ~ This class emphasizes the importance of pastoral care for our congregations. Topics covered will include: what does good pastoral care look like, the relationship between caring opportunities and spiritual growth, the importance of reflective listening, and maintaining the privacy of those we serve.

Worship (e-class) ~ Do you enjoy learning at your own pace? This e-class could be for you. Learn more about worship and worship techniques.
Rev. Dr. Michael Koplitz has engineered, complied and will facilitate the course. Rev. Koplitz is presently serving at Bethany – Felton UMC in Felton, PA.
The course will be delivered via computer technology. Rev Koplitz will contact you prior to April 29, 2017, with the time and log-in information for the initial class.
Participants must complete all work, which will be verified by facilitator, in order to receive a completion certification.
The text you will need to obtain prior to the course is: Hickman, H., Worshiping with United Methodists Revised Edition: A Guide for Pastors and Church Leaders is the required text for this course, copyright 2007, ISBN 978-0687335268.

Participants must complete all work and attend the entire session in order to receive a completion certification.
Participants are responsible for obtaining the required textbook. Because the course is only 1 day duration, you must be familiar with the text prior to class. Amazon or Cokesbury.com are good sources. York District will not be mailing the textbooks.
