Under the direction of Bishop Jane Allen Middleton, Susquehanna Conference's focus is on helping clergy and lay persons access tools, resources, and training to achieve our mission – to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Susquehanna Conference is proud of our mission emphasis, through which volunteers grow spiritually as they perform works of mercy.  For example, Mission Central is our mission warehouse in Mechanicsburg that supports the work of UMCOR as well as over 200 local ministries.  The Sierra Leone Initiative matches churches with sister churches in that African country.  We also have strong connections with United Methodist churches in Haiti and Zimbabwe. Volunteers in Mission go out both at home and abroad to provide spiritual and physical assistance to others.  Local congregations are involved in mission efforts at home and abroad in a wide variety of ways.

Over the past 8 years we have trained over 2,000 pastors and lay persons to write and implement Safe Sanctuaries policies in our churches, to keep our children safe.

altSusquehanna Conference offices are located in Mechanicsburg PA with eleven district offices in the cities of Altoona, Chambersburg, Harrisburg, Lewisburg, New Cumberland (Mechanicsburg), Scranton, State College, Wellsboro, Wilkes-Barre, Williamsport, and York.  Each of the district sites is headed by a district superintendent.

Susquehanna Conference encompasses the central and northeastern part of the state north to the New York State line and south to the Maryland line.  In our eleven districts are around 934 churches whose close to 168,519 members are served by nearly 550 pastors.
