VBS CURRICULUM SWAP FOR ECUMENISM AT ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Sponsored by the Bishop's Council on Christian Unity and Interreligious Concerns

Did you know that if your church offers a community Vacation Bible School with churches of other denominations, your church is involved in ecumenism?  We have heard that many churches in our conference have excellent, gently-used VBS resources that they have used once and would love to share with other churches. We are encouraging churches to swap their VBS curriculum and celebrate this as a tool for ecumenical outreach and disciple-making in our communities.  Your church can participate in one of two ways:

  • Complete this form if you would like to donate curriculum and materials that would be picked up at your home church (we will advertise their availability at and allow people to sign up Annual Conference) NOTE: This option is recommended if you have sets and/or multiple items that would be difficult to transport to and from conference.

  • Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to let us know if you would like to bring VBS curriculum/materials to donate to the VBS swap at annual conference. You can bring them to our table and we will set up a VBS swap to share these resources on a first-come, first-served basis.

THINGS TO BRING TO ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR WORSHIP

Bring a cross -
For over 2000 years, Christians have rallied round a common symbol that represents our Savior, Jesus Christ--and that symbol is the cross. They come in many shapes, varieties, and sizes, but all are representing the same Jesus. This year at Annual Conference we will have many moments to remember that we are One with Christ and are seeking to be in tune with Him. Please bring a small cross that has some significance or sentimental meaning to you when you come to AC this year. Perhaps a cross that is a piece of jewelry, or a pocket cross, or a small hand-held prayer cross, etc. Throughout our times of worship, we will take time to clutch the cross we have brought, to pray, and to remember that we are in fact, One with Christ, and seeking to be in tune with Him.  A limited number of crosses will be available at the Bishop's Partners in Mission display table for a donation to this fund.

Donate stoles -
We will once again be collecting stoles to remember pastors who have died in the last year and then to give to pastors in Sierra Leone.  Please bring unneeded stoles with you to Annual Conference and place in the bin outside clergy session on Thursday morning.

OR send stoles to
Rev. Janet Durrwachter,
