If you will be making a presentation at Annual Conference and need to use any media for visual aids (DVD, PowerPoint presentation, images, graphics, etc.), these materials MUST BE RECEIVED by Jason Mackey NO LATER THAN MARCH 31, 2017. WE MUST HONOR THIS DEADLINE WITHOUT EXCEPTION IN ORDER TO BE FAIR TO THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR A PLEASING PRESENTATION OF YOUR MATERIAL.

LODGING AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Please note that the Annual Conference dates for 2017 are earlier than in recent years. This will mean that deadlines for registration, technology requests for presenters, and vendor display requests will be earlier than in past years. Please be aware of notices as they are published.
Although registration is necessary for everyone attending the Annual Conference Session, there is no registration cost to attend. The costs for those requesting rooms at the Hershey Lodge and meals at the 2017 Annual Conference are as follows:
Two Nights Lodging
- Thursday, May 4 - Saturday, May 6: two nights lodging (double occupancy) and seven meals, $415.
- Thursday, May 4 - Saturday, May 6: two nights lodging (single occupancy) and seven meals, $603.
Three Nights Lodging
- Wednesday, May 3 - Saturday, May 6: three nights lodging (double occupancy) and eight meals, $527.
- Wednesday, May 3 - Saturday, May 6: three nights lodging (single occupancy) and eight meals, $809.
As you plan your lodging options please consider a change to our Thursday morning agenda. The Thursday morning Laity and Clergy Sessions will begin at 10:30 a.m., this will allow an extra hour of travel time for those coming from a distance.
As of today, the registration period is set to open Monday, February 27, and will close Friday, March 24, at midnight. We have blocked (reserved) 500 rooms for our Thursday and Friday lodging, a limited number of single rooms will be available. If you desire a single room, we encourage you to register early in the registration time period.
If you are commuting, and therefore not requesting a room at the Hershey Lodge, but desire a meal package, you may request the meal package during the registration period. We are pleased that the facilities at Hershey Lodge will allow us this year to offer one seating per meal. The meal package cost for Thursday lunch through Saturday lunch (seven meals) is $150. Meal packages and individual meal tickets will not be available for purchase at Annual Conference, the meal package must be pre-purchased.

THOMAS K. CARTWRIGHT SCHOLARSHIP
The Thomas K. Cartwright Scholarship will be granted annually by The Susquehanna Conference of The United Methodist Church. The granting agency is the Enlistment & Interpretation Committee of The Board of Ordained Ministry. The scholarship honors the memory of Rev. Dr. Thomas Kevin Cartwright, who contributed heavily to establishing "The Culture of the Call," encouraging men and women and young people to listen to the call of God to them in the former Central Pennsylvania Conference.
This scholarship has been established to support young adults as they respond to the call to ordained ministry. The recipient will be announced during the awards presentations of The Susquehanna Annual Conference. Qualities of the recipient will include demonstrated leadership in the church and the community, academic excellence, and a clearly articulated sense of call to ordained ministry in The United Methodist Church.
Additionally, applicants must be certified candidates for ministry in The Susquehanna Conference of The United Methodist Church who are currently enrolled or accepted into college or seminary and under the age of 35 years as of December 31 of that same year.

DONATIONS FOR ANNUAL CONFERENCE ALTAR FLOWERS AND SERVICE BULLETINS
Amounts of $15 or more may be given toward the purchase of flowers for the platform. Names of contributors, and of those persons to be honored or memorialized, will be printed in the Susquehanna DailyLINK. Name(s) and telephone number(s), contributor(s), and the typed/clearly printed name of the honored or memorialized person(s) must be included with the request and payment.

THE BRINTON AWARD
The Brinton Award is given for excellence in mission support of the Advance for Christ and His Church. It will be presented this year at the session of the Susquehanna Annual Conference to one individual who is an active member of a local United Methodist Church.
The award consists of a certificate, a subscription to New World Outlook and Response magazines, and a monetary award to be designated to an Advance Mission project of the recipient's choice. The amount of this monetary gift will be determined by the Conference Board of Global Ministries, and comes from the interest of the Brinton Endowment Fund.
Nominations should be submitted by way of a letter of recommendation from the individual's pastor by the March 15 deadline.

MAUD K. JENSEN / KAREN E. LAYMAN SCHOLARSHIP
The Maud K. Jensen/Karen E. Layman Scholarship is awarded to women seminarians from the Susquehanna United Methodist Conference. Named for kindred spirits in ministry, the scholarship is offered to candidates for ministry who exemplify the commitments and character of Maud Jensen and Karen Layman.
In order to complete our process in a timely manner, applications will be accepted until April 3, 2017.
