The annual Harvest Home for World Hunger Offering is November 18, 2018. The goal is $1.00 for each member of each congregation. The offering is divided with 50% designated to support hunger projects within the Susquehanna Conference and 50% designated for UMCOR hunger projects.
In 2018, 62 hunger programs and agencies within the Susquehanna Conference applied for grants. The need is great.
Together we can do more with each congregation supporting the offering.

2019 BISHOP'S RETREAT
The 2019 Bishop's Retreat will be held from January 21-23, at the Hershey Lodge. This retreat serves as a time of learning, spiritual refreshment, some free time, and a chance for church leaders to share with each other.
Our guest speaker will be Rev. Alfred T. Day, who serves as the General Secretary of the United Methodist Commission on Archives and History. Prior to his current appointment, Rev. Day served as a District Superintendent and as the Senior Pastor at the historic St. George's United Methodist Church, Philadelphia in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference. Rev. Day will be helping us deepen our understanding of United Methodist history during the challenging times from a historical perspective which will help us enlighten the present and envision the future.

CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP LEADER POSITION OPEN AT FIRST UMC, CHAMBERSBURG
First UMC is looking for the right person to lead us into our next chapter of dynamic worship in our 9:30 Sunday contemporary service. We are prayerfully seeking a mature worshiper of Christ who loves worship on and off the stage, is highly proficient in at least one instrument and vocals, is able to coach a highly talented and worshipful team, and effectively manage the portfolios of sound teams, work alongside our Media Director, as well as other paid and unpaid staff. We seek a talented musician who loves the team sound as much as their own instrument, can be a spiritual coach to the musicians on the team, have a servant's heart, and a flexible demeanor.
This is a part-time position, requiring 10-12 hours a week.
The position is open January 1st.
