SUPPORT SUSQUEHANNA FLOOD RELIEF

Your church can help our brothers and sisters effected by the flooding throughout our Conference by giving to the Susquehanna Flood Relief, Advance #8055. This supports the work of Early Response Teams (ERTs) and longer term recovery efforts in our Conference. All of the money designated to this advance number will stay here in the Susquehanna Conference.

Please evaluate the need in your local area and contact our Disaster Relief Coordinator at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to request assistance for your community.

JOIN IMPACT HARRISBURG

In an effort to renew and increase our United Methodist Christian witness and presence in the Harrisburg area, an initiative named Impact! Harrisburg will be undertaken this fall. Together, and assisted by a resource team of local UM laity and clergy, the ten UM churches closest to center city Harrisburg simultaneously will explore a bigger and more comprehensive vision to reach new and more people for Christ. This will be an opportunity for each church to assess their congregation's ministry potential and to unlock resources through our connection with and through one another.

We invite you to participate in and support this effort in these two ways. First, join those ten churches and UM's from neighboring congregations in adding layers of prayers to this initiative.

Second, please join us for Impact! Harrisburg's kick-off event with a city-wide worship experience with Pastor Kris Sledge and prayer walk at Camp Curtin Memorial Mitchell UMC on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 5 p.m.

GLOBAL YOUNG PEOPLE SPEAK

A major focus of the Global Young People's Convocation in Johannesburg, South Africa this past July was to discern and act on issues of priority to young United Methodist around the world.

The Susquehanna Conference sent two youth, one young adult, and one adult youth worker to aid in that discernment and action. They spent many hours listening to one another and discussing their preferred future of the United Methodist Church. In addition to forming deep relationships, the delegates were able to craft a Unity Statement and five other pieces of legislation to be sent to General Conference Sessions 2019 and 2020. You can read the Unity Statement and other legislation as well as watch recap videos at the GYPC webpage: UMCYoungPeople.org
