FAMILY IMPACT CONFERENCE
Helping Parents and Youth Understand Today's Issues


Parents, Youth Workers and Youth are invited to join us!

Saturday, September 22, 2018
10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
St. Paul's United Methodist Church
45 First Ave.
Red Lion, PA 17356

Presenters: Dr. Walt Mueller from The Center for Parent/Youth Understanding. Dr. Mueller has spoken all over the world about today's youth culture.

Salt and Light Youth Ministries of Carlisle also will be meeting and discussing today's issues with the youth who are in attendance. (For youth, ages 12 and older.)

There is NO charge for the conference and lunch will be served.

SOCIAL MINISTRIES GRANTS
 
The revised 2019 Social Ministry Grant Application is posted on the Conference Website. If you aspire to start a new social ministry and need funding to begin or desire to continue a previously funded ministry, please submit your completed application no later than September 15, 2018. Please be aware that all ministries granted awards in 2018 are not automatically renewed and must be applied for each year for the remaining allowable years.

MEETING FOR THOSE WHO DESIRE TO APPLY FOR COMMISSIONING OR ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP OF SUSUMC
   
We have scheduled two meetings for those who desire to apply for commissioning as an elder, deacon, or associate member. Please choose the meeting that is most convenient for you. We will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude around 12 p.m. For those who desire, we will be going out to lunch afterward.

THEOLOGY STUDY DAY FOR THOSE APPLYING FOR PROVISIONAL MEMBERSHIP AND ORDINATION  
 
Study Day for those applying for ordination:  There will be a BOOM Theology study day Friday, July 20 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at First UMC Williamsport.  (This date was initially shared at the BOOM Dinner at Annual Conference).
 
Theology study day for those applying for provisional membership:  There will be a Theology study day primarily for those applying for provisional membership on Friday, November 2 from 9:30 a.m. - noon at First UMC in Williamsport.

A complete set of Feasting on the Word: Preaching the Revised Common Lectionary commentary is available. This is a very helpful resource for newer preachers or those who just want to easily add another voice to their preparations.
