FOUNDATIONS YOUTH LEADER TRAINING
   
Susquehanna Young People's Ministry is bringing in key leaders from top United Methodist youth ministries to provide training for youth leaders of our conference. In partnership with Perkins School of Youth Ministry, Discipleship Ministries, and Youth Ministry Partners, we will host youth leaders at Mt. Asbury Camp and Retreat Center from Friday, August 17-Sunday, August 19, 2018.  
 
The cost of the event, including meals, lodging, training, and materials is $240.

YOUTH MUSICAL THEATER CAMP AT GREENE HILLS
 
Do you know any 7th-12th grade musical theater lovers?

They are invited to join us for a week of acting, singing, dancing, and set creation at The Rustic Barn Theater at Greene Hills! We'll spend most of the week focusing on rehearsal and preparation for our performance of "Singin' In The Rain Jr." on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. There is also an open dress rehearsal Friday night for the Greene Hills staff and community. Camp runs Sunday July 8 at 2 p.m. to Saturday July 14 after the performance at the Manor at Greene Hills. Register here: www.susumcamps.org

VOLUNTEERS IN MISSION TRAINING
 
There will be a Volunteers in Mission team leader/member training August 4 beginning with check-in at 8:45 a.m. Lunch and training manual will be provided. The training will cover topics such as mission promotion, budgeting, insurance, and selecting mission partners.

ORGANIST/PIANIST POSITION OPEN AT TRINITY UMC, NEW FREEDOM
 
An organist/pianist position is available at Trinity UMC New Freedom. Piano and/or organ skills, knowledge of both traditional and contemporary music, and five years or more of musical experience are required. This is a paid position. A more detailed job description is available for those who are interested.

DAYCARE DIRECTOR POSITION OPEN AT WARRIORS MARK UMC
 
Flexible full-time schedule.  Applicant must have a minimum of an Associate's Degree that include 30 credit hours of ECE or a related field and four years experience working with children. Must have a working knowledge of the PA DHS Childcare Regulations as well as the PA Keystone STARS program that allows for the maintenance of all expectations.

Position requires: strong positive caring communication skills; financial management skills; accurate organization of child, staff, and center records; and ability to manage the facility and integrate the daycare families into the church.

TWO POSITIONS OPEN AT MESSIAH UMC, SHIPPENSBURG
 
Youth Ministry Coordinator
 
Candidate must possess:

  1.   Commitment to Jesus Christ and His church
  2.   Ability to build relationships with youth and families
  3.   Experience and/or education in youth ministry
  4.   Demonstrated ability to delegate responsibilities - or whatever you had written tonight or line below
  5.   Training and experience in volunteer recruitment and development (preferred)


Principle Duties include:

  • To develop a program of youth ministry encompassing the needs of all youth, while fostering support of youth in their life contexts.
  • Recruit advisors, and/or workers for all youth programs, and promote participation in training/enrichment activities for program personnel
  • Stimulate interest, lead and/or empower youth in the planning and facilitating of social, recreational, educational, and service activities such as retreats, educational trip, work projects, sports events, volunteer services to the needy, fundraising projects, denominational events, ecumenical programs, camping trips.
  • Build discipling relationships with the youth
  • Serve as a spiritual resource
  • Participate in staff meetings with the pastor for review and evaluation of programs, scheduling concerns, and goal setting

 
Children's Ministry coordinator
 
Qualifications:

  1. Commitment to Jesus Christ and His church
  2. Ability to build relationships with children and families
  3. Experience and/or education in children ministry
  4. Demonstrated ability to delegate responsibilities

 
Principle responsibilities:

  • Help children grow in their faith
  • Develop and maintain a written and tangible ministry plan that consists of the vision of the children's ministry. Include action items for implementation that is biblical, child-centered, and relevant for all children's programs. The plan shall address a coordinated team approach with all areas of the children's program covering infants to 6th graders.
  • Co-develop (with other ministry leaders) a family oriented VBS
  • Co-develop (with other ministry leaders) a summer ministry program (Kid's Club) for children
  • Implement Messiah's "Safe Sanctuaries" policy.
  • Be visible in the church through regular attendance. Be a faithful steward of time, talent, and treasure.
  • Regularly attend staff meetings, leadership team, and other team meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as requested by the senior pastor
