The Enlistment & Interpretation committee has begun accepting applications for this year's ministry intern program.

The application deadline is April 30.

GOD'S CALLING EVENT - FALL 2018    

Please make note: the next God's Calling Event will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Lightstreet UMC in Bloomsburg.

This event is for any lay adult discerning a call to ministry. An updated brochure and registration form can be found on the Board of Ordained Ministry website at www.scboom.org.

Also, looking ahead, the tentative dates for the two God's Calling Events in 2019 are March 16 at Paxton UMC, Harrisburg, and August 10 at Lightstreet UMC, Bloomsburg.

REGISTER FOR AN ADULT MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID CLASS TODAY

In Shippensburg -
Saturday, April 28, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at
Oakville United Methodist Church
 
In Curwensville -
Saturday, April 28, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at
Curwensville United Methodist Church

Participants:

  •      Learn mental health problems are medical conditions that need early medical treatment.
  •     Increase their knowledge of the signs, symptoms, and risk factors related to mental illnesses and substance use disorders.
  •     Learn of multiple types of professional and self-help resources for individuals with a mental health or addiction problem.
  •     Increase their confidence in and likelihood to help an individual in distress.
  •     Show increased mental wellness themselves upon completing the class.
