CHARLES SPURGEON HISTORICAL PRESENTATION
Come enjoy an historical period service October 29 from 9-11 a.m. at Red Lion UMC, 1155 Felton Rd., Red Lion, PA 17356, presented by René Kinard and wife, portraying the life and works of Charles Spurgeon.
René and his wife, Rommi, are ministers of Freedom in Christ Ministries Assoc. of Hanover, Pa. Their evangelistic ministry includes historical period church services, ranging from Colonial, Civil War, WW-2, and Cowboy Church. The services include period music that is sung and performed by his wife, Rommi. René's messages are flavored with American Christian history with an evangelistic fervor.
Charles Spurgeon (1834 -1892), whom René will portray, was awidely celebrated English Baptist preacher, as well as a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, commentaries, books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns, and more. Spurgeon remains highly influential among Christians of various denominations even today, among whom he is known as the "Prince of Preachers."
After the service, light refreshments and fellowship will follow. The church's 11:15 a.m. service will take place as usual. Join us and bring a friend.
