RECALCULATING ... YPMC YOUTH RALLIES - SAVE THE DATES

As school starts again, be sure to mark your calendars for the 2017-2018 Young People's Ministry Council Youth Rallies. The YPMC will be holding four youth rallies across the conference this fall and winter. This year's rally will encourage students to think about their faith for themselves, use their creativity to explore the next steps in their faith journeys, and give them some tools to develop a reliable faith that can grow with them. More information can be found on the Web site, igniteyoungpeople.org.

BE PREPARED WHEN DISASTER HAPPENS - GET ERT CERTIFIED OR RE-CERTIFIED

The Susquehanna Conference Disaster Response ministries will be offering Early Response Team training at two locations this fall.

ERT Certification prepares you to be among the first responders in a disaster after emergency personnel complete their work. This United Methodist Committee on Relief training is a great way to prepare for when disaster strikes our conference or its neighbors.

No prior training or experience is required.

Participants will need to have a background check done prior to receiving their badge, but not prior to training.

The training will be offered at Good Shepard UMC, Tyrone, October 7, and at Dorranceton UMC, Kingston, November 4.

The cost of the training is $20. This will include your manual and lunch. The course can also be used to re-certify ERTs whose certification has expired.

Register ASAP, as class size is limited.

GEAR UP!
Clergy and Laity bi-district training with State College

with Kay Kotan, Director of Congregational Development

In order for an automobile to run smoothly and efficiently, all systems (motor, transmission, suspension, battery, tires, climate control, etc.) must be running smoothly in synchronicity with one another.

The same is true for churches. There are nine essential systems that your church needs to run smoothly and effectively in its mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Does your church have all necessary systems in place? Are they all running smoothly and effectively?

Gather your team and come for your church system tune-up.
The workshop is most effective when a team from your church attends together, as many eyes, ears, and perspectives are a part of your tune-up assessment.
