GLOBAL YOUNG PEOPLE'S CONVOCATION

Global Young People's Convocation Election Results
The Young People's Ministry is excited to announce that two teens from the Susquehanna Conference have been elected, by their peers of the Northeastern Jurisdiction, to serve as voting members of the NEJ delegation to the Global Young People's Convocation in Johannesburg, South Africa, in July 2018. Hannah and Alex will be journeying with five other teens and two adults from the NEJ to spend five days in worship, prayer, and holy conversation concerning the mission and ministry of the United Methodist Church.

The Global Young People's Convocation is the global event of United Methodist young people. It is held once every four years. This will be the fourth GYPC. All legislation adopted by the forum may be referred to the Division on Ministries with Young People or sent to the General Conference carrying the name "United Methodist Young People's Convocation."

We ask that you pray for Hannah and Alex, and the entire NEJ delegation, as they prepare for their service to the global United Methodist Church.

Who Should Attend?
Young adults who have a sense that God might be calling them to ordained ministry or who have wondered what ministry in The United Methodist Church is all about or who would like help sifting through issues involved in an ordained vocation or want to learn more about The United Methodist seminaries and theological schools should attend this event.

Workshops
There are more than two or three ways to live into vocational ministry in The United Methodist Church. Workshop leaders are from various ministry settings and will facilitate discussion and discernment about the diverse ways of living into a call to church leadership.
