PRACTICE THE PRESENCE OF GOD SILENT RETREAT
Monday, March 27, 6:30 p.m. - Wednesday, March 29, 10 a.m.
Orchard Hill in Millerstown
This silent retreat has conversation at meals. There is time for reading, reflection, and walks on the mountain, but the core of the retreat is keeping canonical hours -- the hours for prayer that monks have kept throughout the centuries. Canonical office is an ancient (but, fear not) adapted liturgy that retreatants participate in every three hours, day and night, with night participation at your option.
The flavor of the retreat is to bring Christ into the focus of each moment and to practice savoring being in His presence.
You will come away relieved from carrying life alone when you were never meant to, and refreshed, having gotten to know your Lord and yourself in new ways.
Cost of the retreat includes lodging, meals, devotional materials, and 2 CEU's.
MINISTRY OF SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
Is God calling you to a deeper season?
Do you long to listen more and speak less?
To discern more than decide?
Spiritual Direction is a course that invites all these things through reading, prayer, and a monthly small group event that builds skills so you can be instrumental in hearing God's voice in your own life and in the life of others.
Curious? Go to www.centerformation.org, under Ministry of Spiritual Direction, to learn more about it.

Saturday, March 18, 2017
10 a.m. a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Pennsdale Trinity UMC
658 Village Rd., Pennsdale, PA 17756
Presenter: Russel Hart, Director, Center for Spiritual Formation
Join us for a four-hour encounter, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with four traditional types of prayer. First we will explore The Prayer of the Ordinary, an exercise that enables us to become more aware of the presence of God in the common things of everyday. Then we will move to an exercise in prayer as the Scriptures lead us, traditionally called Lectio Divina, or Divine Reading. From there we shall move to the Jesus Prayer - a type of prayer that enables us to encounter the mercy of Christ as we have encountered it in our own spiritual walk. We will close with what is called Centering Prayer, or resting in the healing presence of God.
0.4 CEUs are available.
Cost: $15 (lunch is included)
To register, CLICK HERE, or you can register by mailing a check to the church or call Sara Haas in the church office at 570-546-2619.
